Subversive and unpredictable, Breakin ‘Mozart’s show, after 100 sold-out appearances in Berlin with 100,000 spectators and countless appearances across Europe, is coming to stir up the audience of Thessaloniki.
DDC’s breakdance world championship team, Echo Award-winning conductor and opera director Christoph Hagel, outstanding pianist Naomo Fukumoto and soprano Anna Krauja join forces in a unique spectacle that stabs young and old, overturning stereotypes in classical music and The breakdance. Mozart goes down the streets and meets … B-Boys.
Young dancers meet Mozart’s challenge and combine for the first time breakdance with the music of the child-wonder from Vienna. Urban Dance features are performed gorgeously and with perfect synchronization, combining music, dance and acrobatics at a very high level. Mozart’s works are heard in the prototype performance, played live by the pianist Naomo Fukumoto, as well as in orchestral versions with modern hip-hop covers and powerful techno beats.
